This webinar will consider previous judgments of the Employment Court to highlight common mistakes that employers make when undertaking restructuring processes, and apply those lessons to the hospitality industry.  The session will allow for a Q+A session, and members are encouraged to put any questions forward for discussion. 

Sam is a senior associate in the Employment Team at Hesketh Henry.

Sam was admitted as a solicitor and barrister of the High Court of New Zealand in 2006, and has previously practised as a health and safety prosecutor, a criminal defence lawyer, and as a general civil litigator.

Sam advises employers and employees on a range of employment issues including health and safety compliance, restructuring processes, restraint of trade and confidentiality issues, and employment standard compliance issues.  He regularly represents employer, union and employee clients at Mediation, the Authority and Employment Court, and was recommended for labour and employment law in the 2019 Legal 500 directory. 

Eloise is a Solicitor in the Dispute Resolution Team at Hesketh Henry and specialises in Employment Law. Eloise leads mediations on a regular basis and has appeared in the Employment Court, the Family Court, the District Court and the High Court. Eloise has also written articles on a variety of legal issues for Lexis Nexis’ Employment Law Bulletin, Lexis Nexis’ Dispute Resolution
