The Restaurant Association, with the support of American Express and Nova Energy, will be hosting a Nelson MeetMe member briefing on 4th September. The Restaurant Association’s member briefings connect regional members to national experts on subjects important to your business.

This MeetMe will be in three parts:

Part 1: 2.00pm - 2.15pm

Industry update, presented by the Restaurant Association

Part 2: 2.20pm - 3.00pm

The Role Tourism Plays in the Retail & Hospitality Sector, presented by Lynda Keene, Tourism Business Advice

Lynda has over thirty years’ experience in the tourism industry working in areas of destination management, development and marketing, public relations and communications. She was the former Chief Executive of Nelson Tasman Tourism. Since November 2016 Lynda has been working on an MBIE contract helping Destination Kaikōura, Council and the community with recovery marketing, PR and comms. Aspirational goals to achieve pre-quake visitor spend and arrivals within two years were set.

Lynda will talk about

• What marketing operators can do to get customers through their door
• Websites and social media engagement
• Nelson visitor spend retail profile and trends
• Using Kaikoura Earthquake as a case study find out how they are tracking and how to apply the learnings from that event.
