Join us in celebrating Te Wiki o te Reo Maori, as Vini presents an ‘Introduction to Te Reo for Hospitality’.

Over the course of an hour Vini will guide you through some basic reo Māori, pronunciation, useful phrases for hospitality and some practical ways to weave te reo Māori into your work and home life.

‘Kia kaha te reo Māori’: ‘Let’s make the Māori language strong'. This can be as easy as greeting people with a simple 'kia ora', starting your morning calls with "mōrena", or playing some waiata in the workplace.

Vincent Ieni Olsen-Reeder hails from Tauranga Moana, but lives in Pōneke where he teaches the Māori language at Te Herenga Waka (Victoria University of Wellington). He has a passion for busting the myriad of Māori language myths, and researching the best ways to revitalise Indigenous languages. Vincent invites you to ‘Kainga te reo, ao te pō’ : ‘Consume the language, day and night!’
