Food Safety & Hygiene Certification - Unit 20666.

Course Description:

As a responsible hospitality operator, ensuring the safety of the food you serve is paramount. To meet this essential requirement, the Restaurant Association offers a comprehensive one-day in-person Basic Food Safety Certification course. This course, accredited by NZQA at level 2, provides attendees with 2 credits upon successful completion (non citizens must supply us with a copy of their work visa to obtain NZQA credits) . The training equips participants with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to maintain a safe and hygienic food business environment.

Course Objectives:

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of food contamination hazards in a food business.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of control methods to prevent contamination of food in a food business.

Certification and Benefits:

Upon successful completion of the Basic Food Safety Certification course, participants will receive achieve NZQA unit 20666, validating their competence in food safety. This certification not only fulfills the legal obligations imposed by councils but also enhances the reputation of the establishment by ensuring that customers are served food prepared under the highest hygiene standards.

Who Should Attend:

This course is essential for all hospitality industry professionals, including chefs, kitchen staff, servers, and managers, who are directly involved in handling, preparing, and serving food.

Course Details:

The course starts at 10.00am sharp. Theory will be covered in the morning session and the assessment will take place after a break for lunch. We have allowed until 3pm in the schedule, however this is just a guideline some attendees may finish sooner while others could take a bit longer.
